Cocoa butter lotion bar


Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons dried rose petals

  • ½ cup cocoa butter

  • 4 tablespoons candelilla wax

  • ½ cup castor oil

  • ½ teaspoon Australian pink clay

  • 12 drops geranium essential oil

  • 6 drops rose otto

  • 6 drops bergamot essential oil

  • 6 drops pink grapefruit essential oil

Equipment:

  • Glass jug or beaker to hold about 500ml

  • Cheesecloth

  • Spoon

  • Silicone mould of your choice

  • Airtight container for storage

Instructions:

  1. Place the dried rose petals into the castor oil and let it infuse overnight. Strain the oil using a cheesecloth and set aside

  2. Add the cocoa butter, candelilla wax, infused rose oil and pink clay to a glass jug/bowl or beaker

  3. Melt the ingredients in bain marie or double boiler in medium/high heat

  4. Remove from the heat and add essential oils

  5. Place the mixture into a silicone mould. Let it cool slightly before putting it in the fridge to set.

  6. Once set, remove the lotion bars from the mould and store it in an airtight container away from heat or sunlight.
